Update

Well, what do I say after 12 years after my last post on this blog?

Yes, I have neglected it - it was something that I got bored with after a short while and it was something that I thought I could make happen. And from there, it would snowball with me gaining a reputation with my movie reviews and blending in with the film geeks and all. But I just decided to keep it simple: just keep watching movies.

The world has definitely changed (some ways for the best, but I feel mostly for the worst) in that long and short period of time. The most notable, among the world stage is the Covid-19 pandemic. It didn't have any effect on my movie watching but it certainly did change things all around. The public viewing habits of watching entertainment has shifted as well. Streaming has become more popular. The access of free movies, without pirating them, have been everywhere as long as you have an Internet connection. Less people are going to the movies, according to just about all of the observers. More character-driven movies and recycled brands and nostalgia and blah blah blah are now the norm when it comes to new movies. The Internet Movie Database (imdb) has become less relevant, but Letterboxd has become more of a social media site for movie lovers. Then again, some people say they have already abandoned it. Confused? So am I. And perhaps ironically, Substack has overtaken Blogger as the home for those who still read blogs.

As far as this blog, I'm going to continue to neglect it as, admittingly, I forgot about it. It's there for anyone who wants to read. I don't think any of my posts got more than 200 views, and I don't expect the number to improve. Who reads blogs anymore anyway, right? But I enjoyed reading my own time capsule, and since then some of my opinions and rating numbers have changed. The revised ratings are now on my Letterboxd profile. I am not going to change anything on here, just leave it as it is.

So anyway - to whoever reads this: hope I don't bore you too much.

Happy movie watching,

Jason
